It’s hard to believe the fall semester is coming to an end. Monthly emails will resume mid-January. Here are a few things to keep in mind as we wrap up 2025!  

Academics

  • Make-up Registration: December 10 - 11
  • Finals: December 12 - 17

TLU Offices Closed for the Holidays

  • TLU offices will be closed December 22 - January 2 
  • TLU will also be closed Monday, January 19, in observance of MLK Day 

Start of Spring 2026

  • Returning students can check in online from January 6 - 12
  • Move in for Spring 2026: Tuesday, January 13, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Spring 2026 First Day of Class: Wednesday, January 14

This can be a stressful time of year for students. TimelyCare is available 24/7 and offers virtual counseling support, available by appointment or on demand through the TalkNow feature. Great for evenings, weekends, or students interested in speaking with a counselor with specific attributes, skills, or specialties. Students can download the app in their app store or visit TimelyCare’s website.

Housing Selection Meetings for Fall 2026!

The Fall 2026 housing application will open on February 2, 2026. We are changing our housing model to provide more flexibility in housing choices. Please encourage your student to attend one of our January housing meetings.

The January meetings will occur on January 28 at 12 p.m. and January 29 at 7 p.m. All meetings will be in the Dunne conference room in Tscheope Hall.  

TLU Food Pantry

The Office of Student Engagement would like to wish you and your family a very happy holiday season. We also want to remind you that it is never too late for your student to gain access to our 24/7 Food Pantry.

If your student would like to sign up, please have them use the link below. If they have any trouble, please reach out to Tiffany Espinoza, Director of Student Engagement & Campus Activities at 830-372-6311, so we can get them registered and ensure they have full access to the pantry for the upcoming semester.

Encouraging Servant Leadership in College

Parents play an essential role in helping students grow as servant leaders. Leaders prioritize service, empathy, and the well-being of others. Please encourage your students to participate in campus leadership programs, volunteer opportunities, and activities that foster collaboration and ethical decision-making.

Resume Building Over Winter Break

The Office of Career Development wants to wish you and your family Happy Holidays! If your student has not yet registered in Handshake or Big Interview, please encourage them to do so over winter break.

Also, this would be an excellent time for your students to work on their resumes and create their LinkedIn profiles, if they have not already done so.  

Jan. 21 | Welcome Back Breakfast

Peer Mentors and the Office of First Year Experience & Student Transitions will be excited to welcome back our First Year Students!

After Winter Break, we will host a Welcome Back Breakfast for all returning First-Year Students. Students will be able to reconnect with their Peer Mentor while learning about upcoming programs.  

2026-2027 FAFSA

Spring 2026 student account payments are due Monday, January 5. Students who are not paying their spring balance in full should be enrolled in a payment plan with the first installment paid by this date.

Students who have registered for Spring 2026 should be able to access their Spring billing statement via MyTLU on the TLU Account Information page. 

The 2026-2027 FAFSA priority deadline is January 15. Students who will be enrolled Fall 2026 should complete the FAFSA via studentaid.gov by this date to be considered for aid that is offered on a first-come-first-served basis.

Advising Support - Makeup Registration

Students who were unable to register in November & December due to not having advisor clearance need to reach out to their advisors as soon as possible. Once they have this clearance, they need to reach out to the Office of Registration and Records to get registered. Need to find out who your student’s advisor is? Students go to the Student tab of their My.TLU.EDU portal and go to the Advising page.

If your student is considering an academic major change and has questions, have them reach out to advising@tlu.edu or 830-372-8040. Students who encounter any registration problems can reach out to the Registrar’s Office, registration@tlu.edu, 830-372-8040.

Dec. 20 | Winter Commencement 

On Saturday, December 20, we are proud to welcome our newest graduates into the TLU Alumni family! The day's celebrations will begin with the Baccalaureate Service at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the Abiding Presence, followed by the graduation ceremony at 3 p.m. in Jackson Auditorium.

All commencement events will be livestreamed on our website so family, friends, and fellow Bulldogs can join in celebrating this important milestone. Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
