Latest update: Calvary Mt Carmel Retirement Community

I am writing to inform you that the next round of testing for Mt Carmel residents will be conducted tomorrow, Tuesday, 18 January..

Pleasingly, there have been no further positive cases.

The testing is in line with advice from the Hunter New England Public Health Unit and we continue to liaise with them about the next steps and when it might be safe to lift the current restrictions on residents’ movements or to re-open the home.

For now all of our residents continue to be cared for in their rooms and are being closely monitored for any symptoms.

We anticipate our next update to residents and families will be later this week unless there are any changes that need to be communicated before then.

In the meantime, Calvary Mt Carmel remains closed for general visitation, except for end of life and compassionate visits. Please talk with the home manager to make specific arrangements.
