Teraanga Commons Naming Celebration

You are invited to celebrate the naming of Teraanga Commons (formerly Residence Commons) on Monday, February 27 at 5:30 p.m. in Teraanga Commons conference rooms 270-274.

The new name Teraanga (pronounced tare-ang-gah) is a Senegalese term from the Wolof language that means sharedness, civility and honour where generosity of spirit is emphasized.

Winter 2023 Exam Schedule Available

The winter 2023 final exam schedule is now available. You can find the schedule on the Scheduling and Examination Services website, or on your Carleton360 account (log in through the Current Students website). The final exam period will take place from Saturday, April 15 to Thursday, April 27, 2023. Examinations are normally held all seven days of the week.

CUSA's Mawandoseg Centre to Celebrate Annual Minwàdjiyà-n Campaign

Throughout the month of March, join CUSA’s Mawandoseg Centre to celebrate the third annual Minwàdjiyà-n Indigenous Awareness campaign.

This year the Mawandoseg Centre will host events such as ribbon skirt making classes and workshops on allyship, Inuit history and more.

Learning and Writing Support Workshops and Events

Join the Centre for Student Academic Support (CSAS) for one or more learning and writing support workshops and events this week! Sessions include: Strategies for Writing Academic Papers, Effective Planning and Time Management, Passive vs. Active Voice and Preventing Procrastination. Students can also book one-on-one Writing Consultation services, or drop-in on Thursdays between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Navigating the Canadian Workplace Workshop Series and Alumni Panel

Are you an international student or newcomer to Canada? Join Career Services for an in-person alumni panel on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Alumni panelists from a variety of industries will speak about their experiences in the Canadian workplace and share insights and advice. This event is a complement to ‘Navigating the Canadian Workplace,’ a self-directed virtual workshop series designed specifically to support international students and newcomers to Canada. Now Accepting Nominations: Serve on Carleton's Senate

The Carleton University Senate is accepting nominations for undergraduate students from all faculties to serve on Senate for a one-year term, beginning Saturday, July 1, 2023. The Senate is the highest academic body in the university, responsible for academic decisions of significant importance to both students and faculty. To apply, or for more information on the nomination process including eligibility requirements, visit the Senate webpage. The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 3, 2023.

Now Hiring: First Year Connection Mentors

Help welcome new students transitioning to Carleton University by becoming a mentor with the First Year Connections (FYC) program.

The FYC Peer Mentor Positions are part-time paid positions for September and October, with training in summer 2023. Applications are due Thursday, March 23, 2023.
