Click here February 3, 2023 New Publication Tackling Online Terrorist Content Together—Cooperation Between Counterterrorism Law Enforcement and Technology Companies Published by the Global Network on Extremism and Technology (GNET), this publication discusses cooperation between law enforcement and technology companies to address online terrorist content. Terrorists use propaganda to recruit sympathizers and encourage violence, but this information can also be used to track and intercept attacks. Ideally, law enforcement and technology companies collaborating in their counterterrorism efforts will help prevent violence and death. This report discusses the impediments to such collaboration, such as different cultures and operating procedures and concerns about censorship. New Publication Proactive Police Response to Domestic-Related Repeat Calls for Service Hosted by the National Institute of Justice, this podcast is presented by NIJ social science analyst Yunsoo Park, who will share her knowledge about elder abuse, a widespread issue in the United States and around the world, particularly polyvictimization—the experience of a range of different types of abuse and maltreatment. As many as 11 percent of community-residing older adults experienced some form of abuse or mistreatment in the past year. Yunsoo discusses risk factors, difficulties in defining and studying elder abuse polyvictimization, and strategies for intervention and prevention. This webinar is part of an eight-part series and will feature each COSSAP TTA provider and rural community partners/COSSAP grantees to demonstrate how COSSAP TTA providers can support rural jurisdictions and the innovative work made possible by rural partnerships.
