Stellar News July 2024 Stars Celebrate Culture and Semester One Results Message from Founder and CEO, Andrea Goddard Stars students across the country have proudly been celebrating their culture during NAIDOC Week, embracing the 2024 theme: 'Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud'. It has been inspiring to see the young women show such strength and pride as they share their culture with their schools and local communities. Mildura Stars Celebrate NAIDOC WeekStars students from Chaffey Secondary College met on Country in Mildura in Victoria to perform an award-winning corroboree and to discuss the importance of culture. Annual Report Captures 2023 Results and Case Studies For some wonderful stories and images of all our Stars students across Australia and 2023 results, please visit our 2023 Annual Report below. 100+ Stars Unite on Goldfields Camp in Western Australia More than 100 students in Years 7-10 and 26 staff from 13 Stars programs in Perth, Kalgoorlie, Esperance, Mandurah and Warnbro travelled to Kalgoorlie for a week full of culture, sport and socialising at the Goldfields Camp. Townsville Stars Gather for Alumni Dinner in Queensland Stars Alumni in Townsville recently gathered for a special dinner to celebrate their achievements while also continuing to inspire Stars students. Guests ranged from 2018 Graduates through to current Year 12s and everyone resonated with three Stars Alumni guest speakers: Tayla, Chenice and Kathryn, who bravely shared their stories with the overall theme being ‘don’t be afraid to give things a go, ask for help and to stay true to who you are’. They also expressed their appreciation of Stars in helping making their dreams a reality. Stars also awarded Alumni Achievement Awards to many young women who have demonstrated commitment to their goals and dreams, and reached major milestones during the past year.
An Action-Packed Term 2 Program for Stars in the NT Stars Mentors have delivered a fun and action-packed program for our Stars in the Northern Territory during Term 2. Stars Foundation has certainly come a long way since launching our first program for 285 students in the Northern Territory in 2015. Today we have more than 200 staff supporting around 3,400 First Nations girls and young women in 62 schools across Australia and a further 200 Year 12 graduates from 2023.
