Important Staff Update: COVID-19 Outbreak at Calvary The Brelsford Declared Over

Date:   06 April 2022

To:       All Staff – Calvary The Brelsford

From:  Cassandra Schwartz, General Manager Aged Care

I am pleased to inform you that no further residents have tested positive to COVID-19 since our last communication to you. In line with Public Health Unit advice, we can now declare the outbreak at Calvary The Brelsford over.

Visitation to the home is allowed, however visitation restrictions remain in place to keep our residents, their visitors and our staff as safe as possible. Please see below:

Information for visitors

  • Visitation to the home is limited to two (2) visitors (Partners in Care) per resident, per day, consistent with Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care.
  • Our visiting hours are 10.00am – 4.00pm, daily, with last entry to the home at 3.30pm.
  • We ask that all visitors book their visit with us for now. To make a booking, visitors must email coffs@japara.com.au and provide their requested time and date, name of the resident/room number, their name and proof of their COVID vaccination.
  • Visitors will be required to complete screening requirements prior to entry and wear appropriate PPE (including face mask and shield) whilst visiting. PPE is provided by Calvary.
  • As a precaution to keeping residents safe, visitors will be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home.
  • Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided.

Testing for Staff

For the next week, daily RAT testing will continue for staff.

After one week, the testing will reduce to every 72 hours or upon return to work after two or more consecutive days off.

Thank you for all that you have done to ensure our residents continued to receive the safest possible care, with such empathy and compassion over this challenging time. Your hard work is appreciated.

We all look forward to receiving more visitors back into the home
