Latest Funding NewsBarnet Together 2023 Fundraising Programme Our 2023 Fundraising Programme, is kicking off on 25th January, bringing you expert advice on how to make the most of fundraising opportunities. Sessions include: Writing for Impact - Raising your profile - Corporate and Business Sponsorship, Budgeting for Funding Applications and much more! These will be fortnightly sessions running from January 25 to May 10. You can attend as many or as few sessions as you like, but we recommend signing up for all of them to get an overview of all the vital aspects of fundraising. By signing up, you'll also receive a video recording of the session. Winter Festival Event Funding Barnet Council are accepting Expressions of Interest for community groups to host Winter Festival events up to the end of February. These can be faith, cultural or community based. Groups must send the completed application to community@barnet.gov.uk at least three weeks before their event. If you have an event planned that you would like included in Barnet Council’s listings, please email it to: community@barnet.org.uk with the subject heading ‘Barnet Winter Festival Event Listing’ More information on the Winter Festival Event funding Closing date: 31 January 2023
Sport England Together Fund The Together Fund aims to reduce the negative impact caused on communities by Covid-19. It is part of the Tackling Inequalities Fund set up in 2020. It will see another £20 million invested into four key target groups: lower socio-economic groups, culturally diverse communities, disabled people, people with long-term health conditions. Funding from Lloyds Bank Foundation Local specialist charities with an income of £25,000 - £500,000 can apply for an unrestricted grant of £75,000 over three years. Alongside the funding charities will receive additional capacity-building support and resources to help them thrive beyond the lifetime of their grant. Deadline: Friday 3 March 2023. UnLtd funding for social entrepreneurs Grants of up to £18,000, along with business support, are available to social entrepreneurs that are looking to start or grow an existing social venture. The funding is being made available through UnLtd, which provides support to social entrepreneurs. UnLtd is committed to providing 50% of their awards to Black, Asian and minority ethnic social entrepreneurs, and/or disabled social entrepreneurs. City Bridge Trust Stepping Stones Fund This is a social investment fund for charitable organisations in Greater London. It aims to fund capacity building projects and plans to build better outcomes for the people you support. No minimum amount of funding, with maximum grant amount expected to be £50,000. Rolling applications. Community Resilience Fund The GLA have launched a Community Resilience Fund to support the voluntary and community sector in their preparedness and response to emergencies in London. Grants of £5,000 are available to support up to 12 projects across London. The deadline for applications is 5pm on Wednesday 25 January 2023. Training & EventsManaging Money in Later Life Age UK Barnet are hosting a morning of useful talks all about managing money in later life.
Takes place at the Ann Owens Centre, Oak Lane, East Finchley N2 8LT. Wednesday 25 January. 9.30am for 10am start. Ends 1pm. All over 50s welcome. Community Organising Training Stonegrove Community Trust has organised a series of Community Organising events at community hubs around Barnet. 17 January: Introduction to Community Organising at Clitterhouse Farm 11 February: Introduction to Community Organising at OneStoneGrove 23 February: Listening in Community Organising (Workshop 2) at OneStoneGrove 23 March: Power in Community Organising (Workshop 3) at OneStoneGrove 20 April: Action in Community Organising (Workshop 4) at OneStoneGrove Whether residents are a small business owners, community leaders or interested in community work this course will give them all the tools to start listening and making changes in their community. Barnet Resident tickets £10 News & OpportunitiesJoin the Warm Spaces initiative Warm Spaces is a community-led initiative where businesses, community, faith or social enterprise organisations provide a welcoming space for residents to stay warm and engage with others in their community. It's been created to help people who are struggling to keep warm this winter, due to the cost-of-living crisis. Check out the online directory for warm spaces near you. Small Charity Research Award nfpResearch is providing small charities with an opportunity to receive a £10,000 research project for free. The nfpResearch team will work with the successful applicant to make sure their charity and research goals are met. Applicants must have an income under £1 million per year. Free Community Health Screening On the following dates, healthcare professionals will provide health screenings for anyone over 40 who lives, works or studies in Barnet. They will check blood sugar levels, cholesterol levels, blood pressure, and height, weight and body mass index (BMI). Friday 13 January Friday 27 January You don't need to be registered with a GP. Finchley Lido Leisure Centre Redevelopment Barnet Council wants to hear from locals about the potential redevelopment and relocation of Finchley Lido Leisure Centre, part of the Better franchise. They're asking residents to fill in their online survey to gather information about how the leisure centre could better serve the community. Take part in a charity Super.Mkt Local charities are welcomed to join the launch of a Charity Super.Mkt in Brent Cross with Wayne Hemingway and Maria Chenoweth in February. The Super.Mkt brings charities together to sell second-hand clothes to raise funds. All you need to bring is clothes and staff, the rest will be handled by Hemingway Design.
