PCP Fulbright Scholar Elkanah Linder PharmD '21 presents this Thursday! For two years, Elkanah Linder, PharmD ‘21, has been part of the pharmacoepidemiology research group within the Department of Pharmacy at Uppsala University in Uppsala, Sweden as a Fulbright scholar and then research assistant. On Thursday, September 7th at 1 PM in IPEX 307, Elkanah will present "Web-based Knowledge Support for Environmental Information on Pharmaceuticals: Experiences in Sweden as a Fulbright Scholar". This course is intended for students and faculty/staff who want to learn life-saving skills, especially those who need to document their completion of the CPR requirement or with certification expiring this semester. PCP Student Organization Fair - OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS! Looking to expand your involvement and extracurriculars within PCP? Well look no further, as PCP Student Council will be hosting a PCP Student Organization Fair on Tuesday September 12th at 2pm-3pm in the STC Atrium. PCP currently has 20 active student organizations including honor societies, specialty groups, state affiliates, student council, a fraternity and a newly founded pre-professional pharmacy club. This is a great way to network with peers, find volunteering opportunities, grow as a leader and learn about so many different areas of pharmacy! Deadline to APPLY to be a PCP Student Council Member is September 4th! PCP Student Council is now opening up the application to be a class representative for your year, or to be a part of a faculty committee! Being a class representative is a great leadership opportunity that helps bridge our classmates with the Council so we can better serve our peers. Being part of a committee focuses on different aspects of PCP that can perform better with the input of dedicated student leaders. THE APPLICATION IS DUE SEPTEMBER 4TH. These roles require your attendance in monthly PCP Student Council meetings and varying frequency of meetings within each committee. 22-23 members of PCP student council must re-apply. Sign up for ANALYSIS OF CURRENT LITERATURE, PHS 895! In this course, students and faculty discuss current literature in the area of Pharmaceutics, Formulation Development, and Drug Delivery. Each week, members of the class participate in reading and understanding the various components of a scientific paper. In the Introduction, we become familiar with the background to the research question and the specific objectives of the paper. We attempt to understand the principles of the various Methods/Techniques used in the paper. We analyze the Results and assess clarity of their presentation. Finally, in the Discussion we summarize the conclusions and determine if the authors have met the objectives of the study. Posted by Dr. Mercier. 8/28
