Researchers in Canada's Financial Wellness Lab, based in the Faculty of Science, are utilizing financial modelling, machine learning and data science to study personal finance and develop strategies to build financial resiliency across the country.

Schulich Medicine & Dentistry researchers Kristy Coleman and Dr. Elizabeth Finger have discovered intranasal oxytocin may reduce apathy symptoms in frontotemporal dementia patients.

Expanding experiential learning opportunities

Western is prioritizing hands-on learning to ensure students gain practical skills through internships, studies abroad, community projects and other forms of experiential learning. The university has set a goal to have all undergraduate students participate in experiential learning by 2028. 

Posthumous gift supports family medicine

The late Dr. John Sangster, MD’67, MClSci’84, left a significant gift to Schulich Medicine & Dentistry, fulfilling his wish to support infrastructure and medical students. The contribution honours his legacy in family medicine, ensuring his dedication to education and patient care lives on.

Help raise awareness about sustainability at Western by recognizing a student, staff or faculty member who has made a positive contribution on campus. Nominations are open until Jan. 31.  

Three new teaching fellowship positions available in the Centre for Teaching and Learning
