Important Staff Update: COVID-19 Exposure Declared Over at Calvary Flora McDonald

Date:  28 March 2022

To:      All Staff – Calvary Flora McDonald

From: Ryan Midgley, General Manager Aged Care

I am pleased to inform you all residents have tested negative to COVID-19 in the latest round of testing. In line with Public Health Unit advice, we can now declare the exposure at Calvary Flora McDonald over.

All residents can now move freely throughout the facility and accept visitors under the pre-exposure conditions, consistent with Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care. Please see below:

Information for visitors

  • There is no limit to the number of visitors allowed per resident, per day. However only two visitors are permitted at any one time.
  • Our visiting hours are 9.30am – 4.30pm daily.
  • Visitors will be required to complete screening requirements prior to entry and wear appropriate PPE (including face mask and shield) whilst visiting. PPE is provided by Calvary.
  • As a precaution to keeping residents safe, visitors will be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) every 48 hours.
  • Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the home manager to discuss arrangements.

Thank you for all that you are doing to ensure our residents continue to receive the safest possible care with empathy and compassion in this challenging time. We look forward to receiving more visitors back into the home.
