May brings a new term full of opportunities! Whether your student is getting started with summer term courses or taking a break from studies, Carleton is here to support them.

 

Important Dates and Deadlines

Friday, May 9, 2025: Last day for registration and course changes (including auditing) for early summer courses.

Friday, May 16, 2025: Last day for registration and course changes (including auditing) for full summer courses.

Monday, May 19, 2025: Statutory holiday. University closed.

Saturday, May 31, 2025: Last day to withdraw from full summer courses with a full fee adjustment (financial withdrawal).

Celebrating Asian Heritage Month

During Asian Heritage Month this May, Carleton is reflecting on and celebrating the diverse contributions of Asian Canadians.

Nikita Nanos named Chancellor of Carleton University

Nikita Nanos will serve as Carleton’s 13th Chancellor, effective Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Nanos is a leading voice in public opinion research, with national influence and deep Carleton ties, making him the ideal ambassador for the university’s next chapter.   

Nanos will be officially installed as Chancellor during Carleton’s Convocation ceremony on Friday, June 20, 2025.

 

Celebrating Convocation with the Class of 2025

Carleton University will celebrate the accomplishments of 2025 graduates with in-person convocation ceremonies from Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20, 2025.

The complete ceremony schedule, along with information for graduates, is available on the Convocation website.

Winter Term Deferred Exams

Full winter, late winter and fall/winter term deferred final examinations will be held Friday, May 16 to Wednesday, May 28, 2025. If your student deferred exams in the winter term, they can find their exam schedule on the Scheduling and Examination Services website, through their Carleton360 account or on the Carleton Mobile app. 

 

Tentative Agreement Reached Between Carleton and CUASA

Carleton University and the Carleton University Academic Staff Association (CUASA), which represents full-time faculty and professional librarians have reached a tentative collective agreement. Further updates will be posted on the bargaining website.

The Bookstore is Renovating

Big changes are coming to the bookstore, which will now be called the Campus Store to reflect its expanded offerings. The store is open this summer in its usual location at 173 Nideyinàn with a smaller footprint as the store undergoes renovations. Textbooks will be available for summer courses, but may be sold only in-person during the beginning of the term.

 

Tips for Tackling Move-Out Waste

Is your student moving out of an off-campus rental? Check out these tips to help reduce their waste and support the community by upcycling unwanted items.

Getting Ready for Fall Registration

As we enter the summer term, it’s a good time for students to get ready for fall term registration. Please visit the Current Students website for some great tips to ensure your Raven is well-prepared. Some things to consider in advance of registration include: Changes of Program Elements, government funding applications, registration status and year level, account balance and class schedule.
