Utilities investigations | Wakamatau whenuaWe’re locating underground utilities along the Mill Road Stage 1 project corridor between the SH1 interchange and Hilltop Road, and Hilltop Road to Alfriston Roundabout which will continue for the next 1-2 months. To do this, we’re using advanced scanning tools that use radar and electromagnetic technology. These tools help us find and map underground utilities such as power cables, gas mains, and water pipes without the need to cut open the road. As these investigations are non-invasive, they also don’t generate high noise levels. Our crews will be working along Redoubt Road and side roads including:
Surveys done in the footpaths and berms will occur between 8am-6pm, while works in the road (carriageway) will take place overnight between 9pm-5am. There may be small delays to journeys overnight with temporary speed limits along the work site and stop/go at the Redoubt Road/Hollyford Drive/Everglade Drive intersection to keep our crew and road users safe. Residents along the corridor will still be able to access driveways, though street parking on side roads may be restricted at times. We thank you for your patience while we complete this important work. If you have any questions or concerns about these works, please reach out to the project team with the contact details at the bottom of this newsletter. |
