Library Services Available to Grad StudentsBorrowing Library Items: You may borrow up to 500 books from the library. Although you are welcome to come in and borrow your items directly, you may also use our curbside pickup and mailing service. Fall 2023 Donor-Funded Award Competition
Are you studying Canada-India Science, Technology, Trade, or Policy? Or research in the areas of Canadian-Latin American relations or Latin American development studies? Maybe your research is in the field of recycling building construction materials? Or biomedical engineering? Ethics in the public, private or not for profit sector? Dementia?
These are just some of the areas of research that may be eligible for a donor-funded award. Full application and award details can be found on our website. Applications are now open and a list of available awards has been posted to the website. Deadline to apply is Sept. 28, 2023 at 11:59PM EST.
The Mitacs Elevate Program, open to all disciplines, is now open year-round for new submissions from Carleton post-doctoral fellows.
Post-doctoral fellows will manage a long-term collaborative research project with a company or not-for-profit organization. The intern will spend approximately 50% of their time conducting research at Carleton and 50% interacting with the partner organization. Postdoctoral fellows can apply for 1 – 2 years of funding valued at $60,000/year in any discipline, with $30,000 coming from the partner organization.
Our I-Start International Orientation is a free, online mini-course designed for new international students studying at Carleton University. Topics including: an overview of ISSO services, the University Health Insurance Plan, immigration advising, student life in Canada, navigating Ottawa, and much more. This virtual program is hosted through Brightspace and provides a go-at-your-own-pace setting, allowing you to complete the modules at your convenience.
Our Late Arrival Orientation Q&A is taking place virtually on Sept. 21, 2023 at 9 a.m. featuring live presentations to help you prepare for your life in Canada.

Over the summer, members of the Landscape Lab student group rolled up their sleeves and transformed this formerly neglected space into a welcoming and green oasis.
