Kia ora,

The Southern Corridor Improvements project is nearing completion. Please find below the schedule for upcoming motorway night closures for the week commencing Sunday 14 February. Please note that closures may change at any time due to weather.

Traffic notices provide a brief overview of temporary night closures and road layout changes for the coming week.

Sunday 14 February – Saturday 20 February

Sunday 14 February – Thursday 18 February

  • Full closure of all northbound lanes between Papakura and Takanini from 10pm to 5am. This includes closure of both on-ramps at Beach Road and Beach Road Loop between 9pm and 5am.

Tuesday 16 February – Thursday 18 February

  • Partial closure of Great South Road at Takanini interchange between 9pm and 5am. Motorists will still be able to travel through Great South Road, but will experience a lane layout change.

 

Upcoming Closures (subject to change)

Sunday 21 February – Thursday 25 February

  • Full closure of all northbound lanes between Papakura and Takanini from 10pm to 5am. This includes closure of both on-ramps at Beach Road and Beach Road Loop between 9pm and 5am.
     
  • Partial closure of Great South Road at Takanini interchange between 9pm and 5am. Motorists will still be able to travel through Great South Road, but will experience a lane layout change.

Sunday 21 February – Tuesday 23 February

  • Closure of Lane 3 only (fast lane) southbound Takanini to Papakura 10pm - 5am.

 

Looking Ahead

Weather permitting, night time closures will continue intermittently in February and March, affecting sections of both northbound and southbound lanes of the Southern Motorway between Manukau and Papakura.
