The Impact of Covid-19 on education: Perspectives on the impact of lockdown Edge Foundation As the effects and uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic continue to unfold, this second report explores the impact of Covid-19 on education in its broadest sense. It reflects on the challenges the past 18 months have brought and considers what the impact has meant for young people in terms of learning, teaching and assessment, careers, employment, and wider opportunities in society.
Actionable evidence initiative case study: Unlocking real-time evidence for practitioners Peter York This report discusses the Actionable Evidence Initiative which seeks to understand and remove barriers to building evidence that is equitable, useful, credible, and relevant for practitioners as they aim to improve the outcomes of students who are Black, Latino, or experiencing poverty. The report delves into the process to understand what has worked for specific participant populations in the past and then
to translate those findings into actionable information for front-line staff so that they can connect each youth with the services and supports that are most likely to lead to success.
Science of Adolescent Learning: How identity and empowerment influence student learning Hans

The report highlights key findings of adolescent learning and development, particularly Identity development. The report recommends that by understanding the range of neurological developments and environmental factors that affect adolescent learning, educators and leaders can support adolescents as they navigate increasingly complex social and political systems, leading to their academic and postsecondary
success.
The Benefits of Hindsight: Assessing the impact of apprenticeship reforms on employer behaviour Peter Dickinson & Terence
Hogarth Following the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy in 2017 the number of apprenticeships starts declined significantly. This research project explored the reasons why there were differences between employers’ pre-reform intentions with their actual post-reform behaviour. A rough and ready estimate suggests that apprenticeship starts fell by around 14% as a result of COVID 19.
Youth Census 2021 Youth Employment UK The Youth Voice Census exists to share the views and experiences of young people aged 14 - 24 across the UK. This report is the 4th of its kind and asks young people to open up about their experiences in education, in employment, when looking for work, where they live, and in this most recent year, we have asked what the impact of COVID-19 has been for them. Again this year, young people responded, with over 3,400 of them sharing their voices.
Decent jobs for youth impact report Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth The report discusses the work and impact of the Decent Job for Youth Initiative. It highlights the 66 commitments made to the Initiatives, which cuts across-cutting agenda of creating synergies through collaboration, scaling up action, sharing and applying knowledge and mobilizing and coordinating resources. The initiative drives impact for young people through its leadership in building a strategic alliance, scaling up action and consequence, sharing and applying knowledge and mobilizing resources, whilst promoting youth voices and rights.

We believe no child should be constrained by stereotypes or the expectations of others. We know that if young people hear firsthand about the world of work, they work harder, get better grades and are more likely to break down barriers. They should have the chance to start as early as possible, and that is why we launched the
national I am #InspiringTheFuture campaign.
