Buddy Carter Visits NATE Member Company SBA Communications On Thursday, August 25, Congressman Buddy Carter (R-GA) visited NATE member company SBA Communications Corporation for a tower site visit in the 1st Congressional District of Georgia. During the visit, Rep. Carter – a member of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology – heard directly from representatives of SBA Communications regarding the vital wireless infrastructure solutions and services they deploy to support wireless networks in markets throughout the Americas, Africa, and the Philippines. Diana DeGette Visits NATE Member Company VIKOR On Tuesday, August 23, District Outreach Representative Joe Wood of the Office of Congresswoman Diana DeGette (D-CO) visited NATE member company VIKOR at a Denver, Colorado small cell site the company is building for AT&T. The meeting and tour provided an invaluable forum for discussion of Rep. DeGette’s legislative priorities as a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has extensive authority over many of the issues impacting the industry. Sen.’s Collins, Portman Push for Broadband Expansion Implementation On Thursday, August 18, Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Rob Portman (R-OH) led a group of 14 Senators in sending a letter to Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. The letter urged the department to follow congressional intent in implementing the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program provided for in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The letter advocates the NATE-supported “technology-neutral” approach to BEAD funding eligibility. You can read more about the letter here. NATE Advocates U.S. Leadership in Advanced Aviation in Letter to Biden On Tuesday, August 16, the Commercial Drone Alliance sent a letter, signed onto by NATE, to President Biden requesting executive action to maintain American global leadership in advanced aviation.
