Click here Important Staff Update: Positive COVID-19 case at Calvary The BrelsfordDate: 14 January 2022 To: All Staff – Calvary The Brelsford From: Bryan McLoughlin, Regional CEO – NSW & QLD I am writing to inform you that six (6) residents and one (1) member of staff have tested positive for COVID-19 at Calvary The Brelsford. One resident resides in Pearl unit and 5 residents reside in Sapphire unit. The Mid North Coast Public Health Unit has determined Pearl to be a low-risk situation, therefore Pearl residents do not need to isolate and may continue to move freely about the Home. The resident who tested positive remains in, and is being cared for in their room. All residents who reside in Sapphire unit are currently in isolation until PCR tests have been conducted and results received. There is restricted visitation to this unit until further notice. Exceptions will be made for end of life visits. Please speak to your Home Manager in relation to visitation. Visitations to the remainder of the home are permitted as usual. All visitors and staff will continue to wear N95 face masks and shields whilst in the Home. Routine COVID observation screening is currently conducted on all residents daily, however will now increase to twice daily as per the recommendation of the Mid North Coast Public Health Unit. Our staff are in contact with the families of the Covid positive residents and are keeping them informed. Am I safe to come to work? You are safe to continue to provide resident care because you are trained and prepared for exposures. Your training means you will know how to provide resident care safely by following our strict infection prevention and control procedures, including the correct use of PPE. Thank you for ensuring our residents continue to receive the safest possible care over this time.
