Not a Regular Tuesday PRESCOTT KHAIR Off script in the middle of a worship service is usually a scary moment for a chaplain. We make plans and run sheets to ensure the media team, speakers, the worship team and all other participants are on the same page. Yet, Tuesday morning at Week of Prayer
was the type of off script moment for which chaplains and pastors alike pray. The moment was the off script that provides the “why” behind every long hour, planning meeting, and ministry function. This was the moment where God showed up to embrace his people when they reached out for Him. Read more

Flowers for Homebound Members September 16 We need your help to deliver a mum plant to one of our homebound members. We want to give them a touch of the beautiful colors that we see this time of year. Please pick up a small mum plant at the end of second service, and deliver it to
the person on the back of the card.
Renovate 2.0 Update #8 The Project: The elevator is completed and operational! All those who have needed this addition are welcome to use it. Next, the glass wall will be installed, and the project will be done!
Fundraising: As of 8/23/23, there is $746,017 that has been raised with $253,983 to reach our goal! We are so close! Please join with others to finish this wonderful addition! Remember Renovate 2.0 in your giving plans and pray for its completion!
Romanian Organist
Dr. Geanina Sălăgean in Pioneer September 16 • 4:00 PM
Pioneer Sanctuary Organist Geanina Sălăgean (Bucharest, Romania) will play an organ concert in the Pioneer Sanctuary on Sabbath afternoon, Sept. 16 from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. Dr. Sălăgean is a teacher at a national arts college in Bucharest. Her concert will include a wide range of listening experiences across centuries and countries. The organ will be featured with delicacy and power, from pensive sounds to joyous ones. Admission is free.

for the Bike-a-thon The RMES Home & School Team is hosting a bike-a-thon / walk-a-thon fundraiser for Ruth Murdoch Elementary School on Sunday, October 22, 2023. 90% of the proceeds will go towards improvements for the kindergarten sand play area, a gaga ball pit, and the carpet upgrade project and 10% will be used for future Home & School events. Last year students raised over $8,700, and we hope that even more funds will be raised this year. Some students at RMES may not know many people in our community and will be looking for sponsors. End of Time Kit October 7 • 4:00 PM
Pioneer Commons Pioneer Women’s Ministries presents the End of Time Kit. Check-in begins at 3:30 PM. We will start promptly at 4:00 PM. What guidance does God give us about being mentally, emotionally, and spiritually ready for the end of time? During our afternoon sessions, we will look at what it looks like to be ready for Jesus’ second coming as well as how to process our emotions connected to living in the last days. Howard Center Presents September 17 – Kodachrome
Kodachrome is a saxophone quartet of four graduate students from Arizona State University. One of the primary goals of Kodachrome is to promote contemporary underrepresented composers and provoke the general public’s interest in concert music. Kodachrome Quartet won the gold medal in the 2023 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition – Senior Wind Division. October 14 – Heritage Singers

Offering for September 16, 2023 Pioneer Operating Budget Even though the Bible says, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35), sometimes it’s just not possible to give. Let’s illustrate this because it might help each of us when it comes to the part of our
worship service where we can receive a blessing, but only if we give. I’m going to ask you to hold out your hand and clench your fist Good! Just hold it there as we illustrate the statement, “When you clench your fist, no one can put anything in your hand” Alex Haley quote.
