Thank you for meeting with us

A big thank you to those who were able to meet with us during our recent community information sessions. 

We hosted 9 sessions from Westgate to Grey Lynn and had detailed conversations with over 250 people. 

During the sessions we shared the current design, including the side of motorway the busway will be on, the station locations and indicative station layouts, along with the preferred staged delivery plan. You can find this information here.

Next steps – our consenting pathway

We are currently meeting with landowners within the preferred project corridor, and plan to share more information with the wider community in late October / early November. Keep an eye out for drop-in information session details.

NZTA intends to lodge Notices of Requirement to designate the project corridor and other statutory approval applications for the project via the Fast-track Approvals Act in late 2025. Together, those approvals will enable NZTA to construct the project in stages as funding is made available. 

Under the Fast-track Approvals Act (2024), NZTA will lodge with the Environmental Protection Authority which will appoint an independent panel to consider the applications.
