Heoi anō, me mahi taupuhipuhi ai tātou kia whakarahi ai ā tātou putanga ā-reo. Mauriora!

After more than eight weeks at Level 3 and 4 there is still no certainty as to when life will return to something approaching normality for our whānau in Tāmaki Makaurau.

Last week the Funding Team reached out to those of you with active contracts to check how you were faring and we had a very good response. The team is digesting the feedback and following up where necessary, but please remember contact us if things change for you or if you have any questions.

In the coming weeks we will facilitate an online wānanga so that we can both hear from our wider constituency and share our collective experiences.

Kia haumaru ai te noho.

Larry Parr,
Kaihautū o Te Māngai Pāho

  Project Spotlight:
MURU

On 15 October 2007, with new anti-terrorism powers, the New Zealand Police swooped on the people of Tūhoe, raiding homes in the small town of Rūātoki in the Bay of Plenty, Aotearoa. Among the many arrested under suspicion of domestic terrorism was activist Tame Iti. Fourteen yers on, award-winning filmmakker Tearepa Kahi, world-renowned actor Cliff Curtis and artist Tame Iti announce their response to the event, with feature film Muru. The gripping action-drama is set for nationwide general release on 3 February, 2022, in time for Waitangi Day.

Te Māngai Pāho are proud to have supported this film and look forward to its release in February 2022.
