BB New Zealand Communication Kia ora There is much said about legacy, and BB is a movement with such a rich history and legacy that multiple books have been written about it. We promote the latest book covering the history of 1st Christchurch in this edition of The Bugle. The responsibility for carrying on the legacy is for those in the present, informed by those who have passed and whose shoulders we stand on. One of those who passed recently was Paul Beaumont and I have a poignant memory of my first AGM meeting in Christchurch where Paul was in attendance. Being new in the National Director's role I was a little nervous outlining the direction and strategy the Executive, Staff and I were about to embark on. One aspect of the new direction was our Echo Section and focusing on the 18-25 year old men to retain, train and inspire them to stay involved with the movement. During the question time Paul raised his hand, and I wasn't sure how a gentleman who I was reliably informed had been involved for more years that most, would react to what was being suggested. Paul, stated he was very supportive of the suggested Echo Section, and this came with great relief that someone with expansive experience was flexible and welcomed change. We currently face decisions that will effect the direction, and look of the movement in the future. It is my wish that we have the humble attitude of men like Paul who live and breath the legacy of BB but remain flexible and open to new ideas. As always I thank you for your commitment to the Boys and BB as we seek to support and grow their Faith, Foundation and Future and remain "Sure & Stedfast" Hebrews 6:19 In His Service Mike Brewer - National Director 0274 967 537King's Badge Review King's Birthday, Monday evening an online town hall meeting was held to discuss the potential designs for the King's Badge. A presentation was given by the National Director which included history of the badge here in NZ and internationally. The meeting also covered communication with the NZ Government and design options which had been developed to date and to be considered by the movement. We have now digested the feedback from the meeting and what was received online previous to the meeting. With assistance from our designer we have developed a number of options to consider. These will be discussed at the upcoming workshop in Christchurch after the AGM at 3.15pm following afternoon tea. Please click on the link below to have a look at the proposed designs and give us your feedback.
