Leadership in kidney research cemented with new $3.5M endowed chair

Western matched funds raised through the London Health Sciences Foundation and The Kidney Foundation of Canada to create the William F. Clark Chair in Nephrology at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry, which will help attract and retain top talent and enhance life-saving bench-to-bedside research. 

Ivey receives $3.5M from BMO for new program, course upgrades

A $3.5M gift from the Bank of Montreal to Ivey's Ian O. Ihnatowycz Institute for Leadership will create a new cross-campus leadership certificate program for students, strengthen its Leadership Under Fire course for HBA students and enhance its outreach to small- and medium-sized businesses.

Faculty of Education professor Kathy Hibbert is being recognized as an influential leader, earning the Senior Women Academic Administrators of Canada’s (SWAAC) top honour in higher education leadership, and PhD candidates Effie Sapuridis (Media Studies) and Olivia Ghosh-Swaby (Neuroscience) have been announced as recipients of a SWAAC Student Award in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.

New study reveals alarming trend of nicotine vaping among high school students

A new study by Brescia food and nutritional sciences professor Jamie Seabrook and Schulich Medicine & Dentistry data analyst Evan R. Wiley found more than a quarter of Canadian high school students report having vaped, and 12 per cent have exclusively smoked vapes containing nicotine.

Please keep a safe distance from geese and report concerns or nesting sites on campus. Facilities Management will use this information to add signage to areas where geese are nesting and erect temporary barriers to separate nesting sites and human traffic.
