Special Olympics Athletes Lead Research on Disability Health in SPH Training Program

Special Olympics athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities conducted a study on hydration in a public health co-research training program with Eric Rubenstein and a team of SPH students. On Nov. 8 at the American Public Health Association's annual meeting in Boston, the group will discuss how this collaborative approach can increase representation of people with IDD in research. Read more.

Higher Sense of Purpose May Be Linked to Lower Mortality Risk

A new study led by Koichiro Shiba found that this association persists regardless of race/ethnicity and gender, but women may benefit slightly more than men from the health-protective effects of purpose. Read more.
