Catch the Capital Hoops Classic this Friday!

The biggest game in Canadian university basketball, the annual Capital Hoops Classic, is back! Come watch the Carleton Ravens men’s and women’s basketball teams as they take on the uOttawa Gee-Gees this Friday, February 3, 2023, at TD Place. The double-header starts at 6:00 p.m. with the women’s game and continues with the men’s game at 8:00 p.m. Student transportation is included with your ticket, with shuttle buses running from Residence Commons to TD Place. Purchase your tickets now!

CRA Recruitment Information Sessions

Canada Revenue Agency’s IT Branch is looking to hire several hundred students and new graduates! Join Career Services on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 for a general info session or Thursday, February 9, 2023 for an info session for students with disabilities to learn more about current and future job opportunities in technology, hear from Carleton alumni working at the CRA and to ask questions about the application and hiring process.

 

Preparation Tips for Employer Information Sessions

In collaboration with existing and new employers and organizations, Career Services hosts a number of recruitment events, like employer information sessions, throughout the academic year to give students the opportunity to connect with professionals in their field(s) of interest and explore their career options. Prepare for these recruitment events with helpful tips from Career Services.

Preparing for Co-op Applications

Co-op students can land jobs throughout the term via the job board on mySuccess as well as through a self-directed job search. Students can visit mySuccess and the Careers Services website for great tips on how to stay organized and motivated throughout your job search. Get a head start on Co-op job searches with these great pointers from Career Services.

Learning and Writing Support Workshops and Events

Join the Centre for Student Academic Support (CSAS) for one or more learning and writing support workshops and events this week! Sessions include: Editing and Proofreading Workshop, New Year, New You Workshop and the Top 5 Most Common Sentence-Level Errors: Academic Writing for English Language Learners (ELLs) session. Students can also book one-on-one Writing Consultation services, or drop-in on Thursdays between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Residence Applications for 2023-2024

The Department of Housing and Residence Life Services will begin accepting online applications for Residence for the 2023-2024 academic year on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

The deadline to be included in the first round of offers is at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

Nominations are now open for the Board of Governors Award for Outstanding Community Achievement! Application deadline is Friday, March 24, 2023.

Winter 2023 Students as Partners Program Applications Now Open

Are you an undergraduate student looking to develop important academic and transferable skills to add value to your resume or degree? The Students as Partners Program (SaPP) may be exactly what you’re looking for! Through this paid work experience, students can partner with a professor on a variety of projects to help prepare for upcoming courses.

There will be scheduled outages to some web services on Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as ITS performs software upgrades.
