Doing business in the Macedon Ranges banner
Hi there,
Welcome to this mid-Autumn edition of our e-news

While the trees change colour and the days get shorter, it's a good time to reflect on the many changes we've all experienced over the last couple of years.

As we move through to the next phase of business recovery, the Business Continuity and Resilience voucher program has now opened for a third round.

Check out the guidelines and find out if you are eligible for one or more vouchers.

Vouchers to support the next phase of business recovery

We encourage local businesses affected by COVID-19 to apply for vouchers of up to $1,000 (incl GST). Funded from Council’s COVID Recovery budget, the Business Continuity and Resilence Program 2022 (BCRP2022) has been revised to include services not only from local professional services businesses but also from local health and wellbeing businesses.

Local businesses can apply for vouchers of up to $1,000 incl GST from a maximum of two professional services firms and one voucher for health and wellbeing services. A total of three vouchers are available to each business in the shire across the three voucher programs (BCRP, BCRPe from 2021 and BCRP2022).

The voucher program opens at 8.30am Monday 4 April 2022. Contact ecodevadmin@mrsc.vic.gov.au or Mani Heck on 0400 406 157 for more information.

Applications for BCRP2022 vouchers will close when program funds are exhausted, or by 5pm on Friday 29 April 2022.

Employ their Ability

Launched in 2019, the Federal Government's ‘Employ their Ability’ campaign aims to highlight the benefits of employing people with disability and ensure employers are aware of the Government support and programs available to help them.

One in five Australians now live with disability. However a lack of awareness, exposure and understanding can cause people with disability to be overlooked for employment opportunities.

Join the Employ their Ability LinkedIn page for information and resources on all aspects of disability employment. Connect with employers and most importantly, see how businesses have benefited from employing people with disability.

Are you keen to learn how to save money by changing your business’ waste practice? Would you like to meet other like-minded business owners keen to make a difference?

The Council funded Cool Changes program is a community-led initiative that brings together community members to collaboratively create a Community Climate Action Plan unique to your town. The program has successfully run in Malmsbury, Woodend and Romsey & Lancefield – now Council look to create separate plans for both Gisborne and Riddells Creek.

Over three workshops, these plans look to celebrate the skills, knowledge and wisdom held within the community as well as create big picture visions for community climate action into the future.
