The offering from the upcoming LCANZ Convention of General Synod will go to supporting the Lutheran Study Centre in Pematangsiantar in northern Sumatra, Indonesia. As is customary, congregations are invited to contribute to the General Synod offering. Read more

Pray
Please pray – for delegates, leaders, organisers, visitors, volunteers and staff, that the business of Convention may be conducted in a spirit of love, gentleness and respect.
Talk with your pastor and delegate
Ask your pastor and delegate about the matters to be discussed at General Synod and ask them to run an information session for your congregation about the Way Forward. A presentation pack can be downloaded here.
Listen and learn
Three Synod-specific webinars have been developed for delegates. The first one (on the Way Forward Detailed Framework) was held last Wednesday. The next two will be held on 28 August and 11 September. All members of the church are invited to watch the recordings. The first one is available now here.
Serve as a volunteer
If you are a local or are accompanying a delegate from interstate, please consider serving as a volunteer. Email synod@lca.org.au to request information about remaining volunteer opportunities.

Way Forward delegate webinar
A webinar for delegates explaining the Way Forward framework was held last Wednesday. The recording is ready to watch.
In preparation for round two of the Child Safety Self-Assessments and Child Safety Standards Action Plans, the LCA Child Safety Standards have been reviewed to check they continue to be fit for purpose and cover all the changes occurring in child safety requirements across Australia.

Borgfeldt Legacy grants are available to all organisations within the LCA that require financial support for the welfare of children. The Borgfeldt Legacy offers two funding streams: Major Grants (maximum value of $50,000) and Minor Grants (maximum value of $10,000). Applications for the 2025 grant end on 30 September 2024.
