The Gospel of the "Loser"

Prescott Khair

Losing is unpleasant.

If you have been following the post-season of professional baseball you are most likely disappointed, unless you cheer for the Yankees or the Dodgers, who are set to face off in the upcoming World Series. Even then, one fan base will come away disappointed at the end of that contest. If you are following American politics, election day is just under two weeks away. Regardless of the outcome in the presidential, state, or local elections, one side will end the day in complete disappointment.

Forge a Lasting Connection

BELONG Ministries is seeking individuals or families willing to forge a lasting connection with university students. You can invest as much or as little time as you're comfortable with, but the goal is to connect with the student in meaningful ways. Whatever time you give to a student will be rewarding! If you would like to be paired with a student, you can stop by our table on Sabbath or text the word "BELONG" to 269.281.2345 and select the Adopt-a-Student option.

Care for Cuba

A group of students from Andrews University are preparing to embark on a life-changing mission in March of 2025. They will engage in evangelism, health care, and community outreach in Cuba. This mission trip has been going on for 11 years, and the impact has been tremendous, thanks to your help. Would you again support this mission by donating here in your church or giving at the link below? Thank you for your prayers as they prepare to send off students to serve and share Jesus!

"We, From Battle Creek"
It's Personal

October 26  •  8:00 PM
Howard Performing Arts Center

Personal moments…may we share them? The AU Wind Symphony, led by Dr. Santos, plays my composition "We, From Battle Creek", a suite in four sections, this Saturday night at 8 at Howard Center. My wife’s Grandma Pearl Losey was at Battle Creek, personally, at the time of Ellen White’s Tabernacle funeral in 1915 and the huge Tabernacle fire in 1922. My four compositions explore “The Publishing House” in publications’ glowing “streams of light” as Ellen White foresaw in vision; “The College” in academics and spiritual priorities; “The Tabernacle” in a majestic collage from many hymn melodies; and “The Cemetery” in somber reflection followed by resounding joy. Personal? Moreso if you would be there…experiencing it personally.

Help Pack 8,000 Bags for
Christmas Behind Bars

October 27  •  8:00 AM–2:00 PM
Johnson Gym, Andrews University

Please join Pioneer Memorial Church, the Center for Faith Engagement, and many other groups to help assemble care packages for men and women who are behind bars. We don't often get the opportunity to respond to Jesus' invitation to serve those in prison. Families are welcome; Please fill out a separate registration for each person participating and select ALL the time slots for which you'll be present. We also need a good crew to help with the clean-up at the end. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle. Bring a happy spirit and a heart ready to serve. "I was in prison and you visited me [with your care package]." -Matthew 25:36

Michigan Advance Partners

God’s WORD tells us “... that the earth shall wax old like a garment.” (Is. 51:6) We know that, over time, everything wears out. The Kalkaska Church, built in 1963, was no exception. In addition to God’s restoration plan for planet Earth, the MICHIGAN Conference has a wonderful assistance resource to help when our churches grow OLD!
