Parents newsletter - March 2026

With winter break over, students are well into the second half of the term. March can be a busy and stressful month, but Carleton offers a range of academic and wellness support resources to help students stay on track. Encourage your Raven to check their calendar for upcoming dates and deadlines for assignments, final projects, final exams and more.

Important Dates and Deadlines

Sun. March 15, 2026: Last day for academic withdrawal from full winter, late winter and fall/winter courses.

Thurs. March 19, 2026: Registration for summer term courses opens for degree students.

Wed. April 1, 2026: Last day to apply to graduate in June.

International Women's Day

Carleton University is celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) on Sun. March 8, 2026, honouring the amazing contributions and accomplishments of the women in our community.

IWD is an excellent time to reflect on and strive to end gender-based discrimination, both in Ottawa and beyond.

Exam Schedule Now Available

The winter 2026 final exam schedule is now available. Your student can find the schedule on the Scheduling and Examination Services website, through their Carleton360 account and the Carleton Mobile app.

The final exam period is Sat. April 11 to Thurs. April 23, 2026.

Tax Forms

The Tuition and Education Certificate, or T2202, is available to each student through Carleton Central. Students can request a T2202 on the web and print out the document. The printed copy meets all requirements from Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). T2202s are not mailed out to students. More information on important documents is available on the Carleton Parents website.

Career Services Job Board

The Career Services Job Board on mySuccess is a valuable tool for students who are job hunting. Here are three reasons to check the board throughout the year.

International Internship Program

International Internship Program internships offer the chance to gain real-world work experience, develop international contacts and build resume skills, all while earning academic credit. Applications for summer 2026 (in-person and virtual) internships are open until Fri. March 6, 2026.

Student EDI Research Award Applications Open

Applications for the Student Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Research Awards are open until Mon. March 23, 2026. The award is valued at $10,000 for a four-month project term this summer.

Fri. March 6: Board of Governors Award Deadline

Does your student excel in volunteerism or know another student who does? Encourage them to nominate themselves or another student for the Board of Governors Award for Outstanding Community Achievement by Fri. March 6, 2026. They could win a $2,000 award!

Ancillary Fee Referendum

The 2026 writ of election for the Carleton University ancillary fee referendum has been issued. Your student can vote by online ballot for the ancillary fee referendum through their cMail or the Carleton Mobile app on Tues. March 10 and Wed. March 11, 2026.

Carleton Academic Student Government (CASG) is proposing an increase of $0.44, for a total of $1.17 per term, to maintain and protect CASG’s existing programs and support the organization’s sustainability moving forward.

Summer at Carleton is Calling

The summer term is a great time for students to catch up or get ahead on their studies. Registration for the summer session opens on Thurs. March 19, 2026 for degree students.

If your student is in Ottawa for courses, co-op or a summer job, they might consider living in Residence this summer. Residence at Carleton is a home away from home, offering convenience, community and scenic campus views. Summer residents are welcome to add a summer meal plan to their stay, but it is not a requirement for summer residence.
