Important member update on changes to QLD health directions. Dear QLD Member I am writing to advise you of an update to the COVID-19 situation in QLD following epidemiological evidence of increasing COVID-19 transmission numbers in the QLD Community. From today Friday 11 November, QLD’s COVID-19 traffic light system has moved to amber. As a result, the QLD Government has recommended due to the amber light status that Queenslanders should wear a mask:
Please note that this is a recommendation as – as of 31 October 2022 – there are no public health directions requiring people to wear a face mask in QLD. QLD Health has also developed a COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control Manual, which outlines recommended minimum requirements for managing patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 in healthcare settings. Appendix 6 of the Manual provides a framework to be used by health professionals for determining appropriate levels of PPE in community health care settings. Queenslanders are also encouraged to stay home if they are sick, maintain good hygiene and keep up to date with their vaccinations. A letter from the QLD Health Department is here. More information about Queensland's traffic light system is available here. Please stay safe, and if there is anything we can do to assist you during this time, please don't hesitate to contact the office on 03 9940 3900 or email: info@audiology.asn.au Yours sincerely, Dr Tony Coles ![]() Audiology Australia |
