There's an opportunity for you to attend the Black Excellence Gala which is hosted by Philly Student Doctors. This is an organization that was started by black dental students at Temple and black medical students at Drexel. The Black Excellence Gala will take place in Center City on Saturday, May 6th. UMR, SNPhA, and BSU are happy to announce their clinical diversity speaker panel on Wednesday, April 5th from 6-8PM at STC 145. We are looking for students who are looking for a new way to learn, be involved in the community, and help to combat language barriers! I am currently working on a community health improvement project in conjunction with Springfield Pharmacy, specifically owner Chichi Ilonzo Momah, which includes screening our older adults in Delaware County for high blood pressure as well as diabetes in the comfort of their senior center. This is planned to take place at the Chester Senior Center on April 18th from 10am-12pm and if I can acquire some more help from fellow pharmacy students we could possibly expand to other Senior Community Service facilities and make an even bigger impact. We have partnered with the Haub School of Business to help pharmacy students become influential leaders in areas like Analytics, Healthcare Management, BioTech, Marketing and more. Take advantage of this opportunity starting in your P1 year. Each program is only 12 credits and will count as Professional Electives with online evening classes available. Students must complete the certificate with a 3.0 GPA or higher and will be awarded simultaneously with your PharmD degree.
