Payment Schedule now available
The purpose of this newsletter is to provide the latest updates on the implementation of the Longitudinal Family Physician (LFP) Payment Model, as we move toward the launch date of February 1.
In this edition, we are sharing the LFP Payment Schedule with you. This document provides detailed information about the payment model, including eligibility, enrollment, and billing codes.
For those physicians considering moving to the new payment model, it is important that you review the Payment Schedule, read the FAQs, and participate in our upcoming webinars. Our goal is to provide you with information to make an informed decision about enrolling in the LFP Payment Model.
Payment Schedule
The LFP Payment Schedule can be found here. The Payment Schedule is as streamlined as possible, with only 11 billing codes. The hope is that this gives family physicians a simplified way to be paid, while maintaining your flexibility.
Deciding if this is the right model for you
Check out our Physician Pathway to Enrolling in the LFP Payment Model. It identifies the steps necessary to ensure that you have the information to decide if this is the right payment model for you and prepare for billing under the model.
Enrollment
Enrollment in the LFP Payment Model signals your commitment to provide services and be compensated under this model. Once enrolled, you will no longer be able to bill under fee-for-service for those services covered by the LFP Payment Model. By enrolling, you will also be confirming that you meet all the eligibility criteria.
You can enroll starting January 20. You can start billing under the payment model on February 1.
Please note that February 1, 2023 is not a deadline for registration. It is the earliest date that a physician can start billing under the LFP Payment Model. Due to processing time, please enroll a minimum of five business days before you start billing under the model.

- Review the Simplified LFP Guide, Billing Question Library, and other detailed billing information on the BC Family Doctors website (these will be ready next week). If you are not yet a member of BC Family Doctors, you can join here.

As space is limited, webinar registration is open only to family physicians and residents. Please only register for one session, as they are both identical in format and content.
