Pediatric Elective - PP529 Fall Semester! Come join Dr. Bradford and Dr. Alm in the Introduction to Pediatrics Elective, PP529, on Monday's 3-5PM in the Fall semester. Students will have loads of fun as we make each class fun-fill with activities, games, snacks, and you will learn ALOT about pediatrics. Students will get first dibs on APPE pediatric rotations with Dr. Bradford and Dr. Alm. We also run a APPE pediatric matrix with 1 APPE clinical and 1 APPE research rotation. Dr. Jason Wallach - PhilaDelic Conference! Dr. Jason Wallach from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences will be speaking at PhilaDelic, a conference at the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, students from Saint Joseph's University are involved in its organization. PhilaDelic's mission is to create an inspiring and inclusive space for psychedelic education, scholarship, and community. Our varied conference programming includes panels, lectures, mixers, workshops, poster sessions, and more opportunities to engage with the broader psychedelic community. PhilaDelic will be hosting over 32 speakers across 12 different disciplines, to help foster intellectual cross-pollination, spur creativity, expand understanding, and provide a holistic overview of the psychedelic field. There is no minimum college experience necessary. This unique opportunity allows for students to gain experience working at each of our three community pharmacy sites, located in the Lehigh Valley; as well as at both the LVPS-Specialty pharmacy and Infusion pharmacy. PP547 Critical Care Therapeutics: Free ACLS Certification and IPE Opportunities! Incoming P3 students, we are currently enrolling students in PP547 Critical Care Therapeutics for Fall 2023. This 2 hour elective course, open to all P3 students, will introduce you to management of critically ill patients. As special opportunities, students enrolled in PP547 will complete free American Heart Association ACLS certification (~$300 value, funded by a PCP faculty grant) and two interprofessional critical care emergency simulations. The certification and simulations are interprofessional and hosted with medical and nursing students from the University of Pennsylvania. This course will be especially useful for students interested in further differentiating themselves for their pursuit of residency training with an advanced certification.
