Keeping SH3A safe and reliableIf you’ve travelled along SH3A near Inglewood recently you’ll have seen crews working steadily to rebuild the road. Roads don’t last forever. Over time, traffic, weather, and ground conditions wear down the layers beneath the surface of the road. When that happens, the road needs to be rebuilt to restore its strength and extend its life. Throughout this maintenance season we will complete many rebuilds across the state highway network. Rebuilding the road helps reduce the need for frequent repairs, improves ride quality, and ensures the road can continue to support the communities and businesses that rely on it every day. Thanks to everyone travelling through the area for your patience and care as we complete this necessary work. Work underway on SH3A. |

SH3 Mt Messenger underslip repairedRepairs to the underslip on SH3 Mt Messenger in Taranaki are now complete following damage caused by heavy rain in June. Despite challenging weather and ground conditions, crews worked hard to keep the programme on track. We also temporarily extended the work site in late August to carry out critical work for the Te Ara o Te Ata – Mt Messenger Bypass. Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding while this important work was carried out. Top: Work to repair underslip. Bottom: Repair complete. |
