Dear Residents and Family Members,

COVID-19 Update for residents & families of Calvary Riverside Views

Following our last update to residents and families, I am writing to advise that through the current testing regime, an additional resident in Valley Wing and an additional staff member who worked in Tamar and View Wings have tested positive for COVID-19. We are currently seeking advise from the local Public Health Unit regarding the Tamar and View Wings as all residents remain asymptomatic.

Testing at the Home is currently underway. We will contact you when these results are received.

Calvary Riverside Views remains closed for general visitation.

For the safety of residents and staff and in consultation with the Public Health Unit, the Valley Wing at Calvary Riverside Views remains closed to visitors until the Public Health Unit deems it safe to re-open. Residents will need to remain, and continue to be cared for, in their rooms.

We understand that it is very difficult for residents to be cared for in their rooms and not have visitors. Please be assured that our team will continue to ensure the holistic care needs of all residents are met and calls and video conferencing is available for loved ones to remain in contact.

Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, or who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the Manager of your Home to discuss arrangements.

Please be assured that our staff have prepared for COVID-19 exposures and outbreaks such as this. Our staff are trained in strict infection control procedures and are focusing all of their attention on the individual care needs of residents.

We will update you again as soon as any information becomes available.

We know that this will be worrying for you and your loved ones in our care. We want to assure you that we are doing everything possible to continue to look after the health and wellbeing of all our residents while keeping them safe during this difficult time.
