This month we announce the launch of Protect's 30th Anniversary conference: The Future of Whistleblowing to be held on 5 October 2023 in London and online.

We will be welcoming Zelda Perkins (founder of Can't Buy My Silence), Helen Evans (Oxfam whistleblower), Robert Spano (former Head of the ECHR) and many more fantastic speakers to the stage to discuss their views on whistleblowing and its prospects.

You can look forward to an agenda of thought-provoking debates, inspiring speakers, networking opportunities and a film screening of When We Speak, directed by Tas Brooker, who will also be in attendance.

The first of our new podcast, The Inside Story, has been released on Spotify. We’ll use this to give a platform to the whistleblowing community to tell their stories. We will also be releasing monthly blog posts on the run up to our Anniversary, giving you a taster of some of the discussions you can expect from the day.

An important date for your diaries: World Whistleblowers Day is on 23 June 2023. We encourage employers to use this day to discuss their policies and processes with staff and remind them of the importance of speaking up.  Protect will be joining the Whistleblowing International Network to host a webinar looking at the pros and cons of US-style rewards systems for whistleblowing – do join us!

Finally, we are pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chair for Protect. Lucy McLynn will succeed Paul Boyle who stands down in July 2023 after six years in the role. Our thanks to Paul for his commitment to the charity and wise counsel and a warm welcome to Lucy. Read our press release here.
