Western among Canada’s greenest workplaces

Western has been named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers, recognizing its commitment to sustainability through campus operations – including real-time energy monitoring – and unique efforts such as the community garden and Free Store.

Nobel laureate returns to campus

Nobel Prize winner Peter Howitt, MA’69, returned to Western on April 20 to share insights and reflect on his time on campus. The past professor joined students, faculty and alumni for a fireside chat to discuss creative destruction, artificial intelligence and the future of economics.

Ivey Business School opened the Donald K. Johnson Centre in downtown Toronto, expanding its capacity for graduate programs, executive education and corporate engagement, while strengthening its presence in Canada’s business capital.

Using the James Webb Space Telescope, Western researchers have revealed the most detailed view yet of Tc 1 – a cloud of gas and dust where carbon molecules known as “buckyballs” form – providing new insights into their formation.
