Hamilton section project update - August 2020

A 22km four-lane highway needs a lot of asphalt – 120,000 tonnes in fact. The latest quarterly project update looks at the temporary asphalt plant we are building at Ruakura which will be supply the site.

The plant is being assembled on Tainui Group Holdings land, part of the future inland port which the expressway will be a key driver.

There’s also a look at the project’s gully restoration plan which sees 10 hectares of gullies on the city’s fringe cleared of pests and weeds ahead of native trees and shrubs being planted.

We have an update of the final bridges heading to completion and the usual recent progress photos from across the project.
