SH1 Belfast to Pegasus and Woodend Bypass

The Government announced in July 2024 that the SH1 Belfast to Pegasus Motorway and Woodend Bypass (B2P) has been prioritised for delivery as one of the first seven Roads of National Significance (RoNS). This project will help reduce congestion, improve safety and travel times, and reduce community severance in Woodend.

Along with the B2P project, we're aware the community are keen to know what is happening with the proposed SH1 Saltwater Creek to Cam River safety project. We will be able to update you on both these projects in a few weeks following funding being finalised in the NLTP.

To be on the list for continuing updates on the SH1 Belfast to Pegasus Motorway and Woodend Bypass project, visit the project web page and subscribe to updates.

Have your say on 3 options proposed for Cranford St

Christchurch City Council (CCC) is proposing three options for what are currently bus lanes on either side of Cranford Street between Berwick Street and Innes Road during peak times.

The CCC want to hear from anyone who regularly uses Cranford Street during peak times – residents in the area, commuters, bus users, school students and businesses.

The options include:
   •  Continue as bus lanes - which would maintain priority for buses

   •  Change to T2 lanes - which would give priority to vehicles with more than one
       person, including buses

   •  Change to clearways - for all traffic.

For more information on these options, other safety improvements the Council is planning, and to give your feedback go to the Which Option for Cranford Street website. The CCC want to hear from you by 26 August 2024.
