Our Next Meeting
Barnet VCS Environmental Network

Thursday 21 October,
10.30 - 12noon

If you've already been to a Barnet VCS Environmental Network meeting then you'll automatically receive an invite and zoom link for our 8th on 21 October.

If you've not joined us yet, then do email Ellen. These are informal and informative networking sessions for those working in the Barnet VCS, where we can come together to discuss environmental issues in the Borough, and work out how we as a sector can make a difference.

This networking group will raise awareness of environmental projects that are happening in the Borough, help to establish partnerships and joint initiatives and seek funding opportunities.

In October we'll be joined by a team member from Barnet Council's Street Scene to discuss recycling and fly-tipping, and Anne Hartley and Amanda Lamb will be joining us to discuss Greater London Authority Funding opportunities. We can also pick up on any questions linked to the Barnet Community Innovation Fund, which closes on 1 November.

If you have any topics you would like to raise/discuss, do let Ellen know.

This is a critical time to highlight how the lifecycle of plastics is a significant environmental pollutant and driver for climate change, and that commitments to 'turning off the plastic tap' can contribute to reaching all-important climate targets.

As part of COP26 Universities Network, University of Portsmouth researchers and our international collaborators will showcase the links between plastic waste and climate.
