4 February 2022

Dear Resident and Family Members,

COVID-19 Update Calvary Kelaston

Further to our recent update, we are pleased to inform residents and families that all tested Calvary Kelaston residents have now received negative results from the latest round of testing.

This means we now are able to lift the restrictions at Calvary Kelaston, and visitors will be permitted entry, subject to guidelines. Residents have been de-isolated and may move freely about their environment.

Are visitors allowed?

Calvary Kelaston will reopen to visitors from Saturday, 5 February 2022.

  • In line with Calvary’s recent visitor update of 29 December 2021, one single nominated visitor only will be permitted per resident during the home’s visiting hours. This is due to the continuing heightened risk of infection and will be in place until further notice.
  • Each family should nominate the visitor and notify the home manager of who this person is. The visitor is strongly encouraged to have obtained a booster vaccine if they are eligible.
  • Visitor entry to the home is between 9-4pm .
  • The nominated visitor is required to complete screening requirements prior to entry and wear a mask while at the Home, this can be provided by Calvary.
  • As a precaution to keeping residents safe, visitors will be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home. This takes time, and we ask for your patience as we manage this important screening process.
  • Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the home manager to discuss arrangements.

What happens now?

As a precaution, our staff will continue to closely monitor all residents for symptoms of COVID-19.

We thank residents and families for your continued support and understanding during this challenging time. You can help us by sharing this information with your family and friends.

We are also very grateful that families continue to work with us so generously to ensure the safety of your loved ones in our care, and look forward to receiving visitors back into the home.

Sincerely,

Sherryn McMahon
