Greetings!

Exciting news for Texas: we’re partnering with a brand new charter school, UP Excellence Academy, set to open this fall in Houston. Supporting brand new charter schools and accelerating sector growth is at the heart of what we do. By providing these schools with the facilities they need, we're helping to expand educational opportunities and drive positive change in under-resourced areas.

In May, we had an amazing time visiting our charter school facilities in the Bay Area and Los Angeles, witnessing the incredible impact of our work and the vibrant communities we serve.

We’re also thrilled to announce that our board member, Reggie Gilyard, was named Director of the Year by the Forum for Corporate Directors in Orange County. His dedication and leadership are truly inspiring and exemplify our commitment to excellence.

Warmly,

John Sun

PCSD Presents to Lighthouse Students

PCSD was in the classroom again! Along with colleagues from LCA Architects and Bjork Construction, Jennifer Afdahl Rice and Keivan Abidi from our Northern California team talked with Lighthouse’s 9th grade Computer-Aided Design (CAD) class about the upcoming renovation projects at Lighthouse and Lodestar, another Lighthouse Community Public School. We talked through the design, walked through the space to be renovated at their school, and are looking forward to seeing their faces when the construction is complete this fall.

LA Team Members Visit Bay Area

Two LA team members had the opportunity to join our Bay Area team on a visit to two charter school facility projects getting ready for the 2024-2025 school year! Voices College-Bound Language Academies in Morgan Hill is making strides - with buildings up and classrooms in development!

In Oakland, Leadership Public Schools R&D School, which is co-located with Castlemont High School, is revamping with new buildings to replace outdated modulars, providing high school students with permanent spaces including classrooms, a college and career center, and a Maker Space.

LA Team Tours Facility Projects

Our LA team recently visited two of our charter school facility projects: Bright Star Schools Rise Kohyang High School and Citizens of the World Los Angeles Silverlake Middle School. Both schools are set to be delivered this summer, just in time for the 2024-2025 school year. We’re thrilled to see these projects come to life, providing more educational opportunities for students in LA.
