Traffic switch from Tuesday night

From next week we will be starting on drainage and pavement work on the western side of the roundabout. This will take approximately four weeks.

To create a clear worksite, crews will be instating the new permanent exit to Skippers Lane on Tuesday overnight. Preparatory works will be undertaken on Monday and Tuesday during the daytime and this will affect some of the current parking opposite the service lane betwen Liquorland and Plumbing World.

From Wednesday, one-way system will be in place from south to north. Left turning traffic will be directed through the new exit, while right turning traffic will be detoured around Waipapa Loop Road.

In addition, the southern entrance to Waipapa Loop Road will be closed for the duration of these works. Access will be via the northern entrance.

Downer has produced a map (below) showing the temporary traffic layout. Downer will provide digital and printed copies to Skippers Lane businesses to share with their customers.

Road pavement

Daytime road pavement work and streetlight ducting will continue on the eastern/state highway side of Skippers Lane next week, particularly north of the southern entrance.

Some stop/go traffic management will be required during these works.

While crews work across the southern entrance to Skippers Lane, the temporary entrance will be reinstated for up to a week and will be signposted.

Parking on the eastern side will be affected in sections and will be reinstated as quickly as possible as crews move up. Signs are now up to indicate additional daytime parking behind the Pioneer.

Stormwater installation – nightworks

Stormwater installation nightworks along Skippers Lane east are now complete, a week earlier than planned.
