The purpose of the Innovation Round is to invest in fresh, ground-breaking content and campaigns. Mai i te KaihautūTēnā rā tātou, tēnā rā tātou i roto i ngā tini āhuatanga o te wā. Ngarue ana te whenua, ngaoko ana te moana i te hinganga o ngā tōtara o te wao, ā, mō wai ana tērā i te maunga o ngā kākā As you know, we operate with reduced capacity due to some recent departures. We are currently looking at our structure and what additional capacity might be required to ensure that, as an organisation, we are fit to provide the best results for te reo Māori and excellent service to our content creators and platforms. Once we are confident we have the right balance we will go to the market to recruit for any gaps. We will announce our recruitment plans in our Pānui. We are also taking a good hard look at our funding processes. We are doing this alongside of Irirangi te Motu (NZ On Air) and the Te Tumu Whakaata Taonga (NZ Film Commission) in the expectation that there may be areas where the three organisations may be able to improve With General Audience Round 2 closing last Friday, there are only two more mixed platform rounds this calendar year. The Innovation Round is open and closes on September 29th, with decisions available on October 20th. The co-fund round with NZ On Air will also open before the Xmas break. We are also conscious of a growing need for more development time and are considering a Development Funding round early in the New Year. We’ll provide more information on this funding round in the coming weeks. Larry Parr Wild Kai LegendsWild Kai Legends explores some of the country’s most pristine landscapes with well-known TV personality Tāmati Rimene-Sproat, as he meets and hunts with local kai gathering legends in their own backyards. Legends from across the country share their sacred havens and secret honey spots while showcasing a style of hunting best suited to the local terrain.Providing kai is one thing, enjoying time in Te Wao nui a Tāne (The bush) is another. Although bringing home the goods is always on the mind of each hunter - spending time with local legends and looking at practical solutions to preservation, hunger and our natural taonga is where the real magic lies. Tāmati is an egoless presenter- and never shies away from revealing all in front of the camera – from stumbles and fumbles to great shots and near misses, because as every good hunters knows, “There is a reason why it’s called hunting and not killing.” Check out Wild Kai Legends Series 4, on TVNZ+ Apakura Released in August, renowned, golden-voiced artists Mara TK, Raakai Whauwhau, Hawkins and Ria Hall have released their first collaborated single alongside a group of music students from Te Wharekura o Ngā Purapura o Te Aroha.
