Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident and Family Members,

COVID-19 Update for Residents and Families: Exposure at Calvary Ryde Closed

I am pleased to inform you that no additional residents or staff have tested positive to COVID-19 over last week.

The positive resident has now been medically cleared and all residents are now free to move around the facility. In line with Public Health Unit advice, we are now able to declare the exposure at Calvary Ryde closed.

In line with Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care, some visitation restrictions have now been removed. There are, however, some precautions still in place to keep our residents, their visitors and our staff as safe as possible. Please see below:

Information for visitors

  • There is now no limit to the number of visitors allowed per resident, per day.
  • Visiting hours are between 11.00am and 6.00pm, with last entry permitted at 4.30pm. This is to ensure all screening processes can be completed by our day staff.
  • Visitors will be required to complete screening requirements prior to entry and wear appropriate PPE (including face mask and shield) whilst visiting. PPE is provided by Calvary.
  • As a precaution to keeping residents safe, visitors will be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home. This takes time, and we ask for your patience as we manage this important screening process.
  • If you have any questions please speak with the home manager.

As always, visitation exceptions can be made for residents receiving end of life care and for compassionate visits. Please contact the home manager to make arrangements.

We will continue to monitor residents closely for symptoms of COVID-19.

We are very grateful to our residents and families for your continued support and understanding during this challenging time, and very much look forward to receiving more visitors back into the home.

Sincerely,

Amanda Bennett,

General Manager Aged Care
