Memories of Easter Term will live on in the memories of alumni, not just for the punting and the beautiful spring gardens, but for the exams — and all the stress that comes with them. During this time, we try to create an atmosphere at College conducive to studying and stress-reduction, and to offer extra support to students when they most need it. But what does this mean in practical terms? And can techniques such as puppy-petting and mindfulness training really help reduce stress levels? 50th Anniversary of the Boat ClubHappy 50th to the Wolfson College Boat Club! The Club's first crew in 1968 consisted of five women (including the coxswain) and four men. This year, the Club had a very successful Lent Bumps (despite the stormy weather), a men's team competed in China and we are hopeful for a good result in the May Bumps between 13 and 16 June. To celebrate its 50th, the Club is holding a special Bank Party and Rowing Session in addition to the usual Boat Club Dinner. Fellow and Tutor Giles Yeo will speak at the event on the topic of 'Are your genes to blame when your jeans don't fit?' Wolfson City Evening in London this ThursdayTonight, 3 May, between 6 and 8pm, we will be holding a drinks reception at the international law firm Fried Frank in London. UPCOMING EVENTSGarden Party & Mary Bevan ConcertMark your diaries for Sunday 17 June, which is the day of both our annual Garden Party and one of our favourite concerts of the year. Open to all Wolfson members, the party is from 3-5pm and the Mary Bevan Recital is at 7:30pm. Stop by to enjoy a glass of wine or ginger beer and listen to the Cambridge University Brass Band and the College Choir. Mary Bevan was a Senior Member who is remembered through the annual Mary Bevan Recital which her husband Professor Hugh Bevan, Honorary Fellow, has funded in her honour. There will be a special session for the Undergraduate Course in Medicine. The Digital PersonThe Wolfson-HAT Annual Symposium on the Digital Person takes place on 31 May. The symposium will be chaired by three eminent professors in the field; Emeritus Fellow John Naughton, Fellow Jon Crowcroft and Senior Member Irene Ng.
