Textile collection and recovery trial
According to the Australian Fashion Council, Australians buy 56 new items of clothing a year, and most of it ends up in landfill! Waverley Council is trialling the collection and recovery of textiles from apartment buildings. Since 2019, the program has collected 19 tonnes of textiles.
