Changes and night work on QEII Drive

Early next week we will shift westbound traffic onto the new QEII Drive lanes near Main North Road.

The next section of work around the Innes Road roundabout also starts next week (6 May). As this is a very busy piece of road we need to do some of the construction work at night when traffic is lighter. The roundabout layout will not change greatly but the approaches will be improved. To do this work we will close or shift traffic lanes and close slip lanes for short intervals.

Please drive to the conditions and be prepared for loose shingle as the new sections of road bed in.

On Sunday night 5 May (and possibly Monday night) we will be directional drilling for a new wastewater pipe under QEII Drive at Hills Road. Traffic on QEII Drive in both directions will be stopped for three minutes at a time between 8pm and 7am. Please expect short delays.

The QEII Drive shared use path and underpasses will remain open during all this work.

Contraflow on Waimakariri Bridge Friday night

This Friday from 6pm we will close the southbound Waimakariri Motorway Bridge and have both north and southbound traffic on the northbound bridge - one lane each way.  This will allow us to lift more beams into place.
