Final surfacing work progressing well

Final surfacing of the Christchurch Southern Motorway is advancing well with approximately three weeks work remaining on Main South Road, between Robinsons Road and Rolleston. The crew will then make a start on SH76, between Robinsons Road and Halswell Junction Road. Final road marking will follow in approximately six weeks.

Most of the work is being carried out at night (7pm-6am) and is very weather dependent, so be ready for potential schedule delays and changes.

Please take it quietly

We apologise for the disruption night works are causing neighbours and road users.

The crew is doing its very best to work quietly and efficiently and is taking extra measures where possible to minimise ongoing effects.

Motorists can also help to reduce noise for nearby residents by braking and accelerating gently when passing through road works.

Larger vehicles can help by minimising engine braking and taking it quietly down side roads.

It is important all motorists follow the posted speed limits and increase travelling distances between vehicles.
