Share your views on maternity, neonatal and children's surgical services in NCL
A 14-week public consultation has been launched on proposed changes to how and where some maternity, neonatal and children’s surgical services are provided in North Central London.
The proposals have been developed by doctors, midwives, nurses, and other health professionals, working together with families who have experience of using these services.
North Central London Integrated Care Board are leading the consultation, and would like to receive your feedback. You can view the proposals and find out more here.
Congratulations to Burnt Oak Leisure Centre... ...which has recently been accredited as a Dementia Friendly Venue! The Leisure Centre offers a fantastic range of sports facilities, and has taken steps to accommodate and support customers living with dementia and their carers.
The Mayor of London’s Dementia Friendly Venues Charter has been created to ensure that everyone living with dementia has access to cultural venues which are responsive to their needs. This can involve simple adaptations like adopting clear signage, creating a dedicated quiet area, or arranging dementia-awareness training for staff.
Dementia Friendly Venues serve as an invaluable resource for people living with dementia in our borough, and Barnet Council is keen to support any venue which is interested in achieving accreditation. To find out more, please email Gabriel.Johns-Main@Barnet.gov.uk or Seher.Kayikci@Barnet.gov.uk.
Healthy Heart Project
If you are part of an African, Caribbean or South Asian community, you have a higher risk of suffering from high blood pressure, hypertension or cardiovascular disease. Our peer support programme offers the chance to meet other people from your community who share the same risks as you do. By connecting with others, sharing your experiences and learning together, you can make changes to improve and maintain your heart health.
The Healthy Heart team can offer either one-off awareness raising sessions or a more intensive programme over 4 weeks, within your organisation to encourage better heart health for your members.
Contact the Healthwatch team within Inclusion Barnet to arrange your session today!
