Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition Winners!
Congratulations to our 2025 3MT winners! First place prize was awarded to Geneviève Haché (Chemistry), second place was Raegan Davis (Biology), third place went to Tejas Kokatnur (Building Engineering) and Dunja Palic (Management) won honourable mention.

Summer Term Registration
Registration is now open for Summer term in Carleton Central. To aid your registration, visit the
graduate calendar program requirements and use your audit to stay on track with course selection and degree requirements. Please contact your Department for specific questions regarding course or degree requirements. After completing your registration, it is important that you review your audit. Find your academic audit by selecting the 'myAudit' link under the Important Links section in Carleton360, or in Carleton Central under the Academic Progress section.

Linguavision 2025
Join the School of Linguistics and Language Studies for Linguavision 2025 on April 9 in the Kailash Mital Theatre. The event will feature Carleton students singing in seven different languages. Doors open at 7 p.m. and admission is free and open to the public. Visit

Carleton Music's Spring Concert Series
Until April 8, Carleton Music invites one and all to our 
Spring 2025 student concert series. Participating ensembles include: Jazz, Singer-Songwriter, Lyric Theatre, Chamber Music, Fusion, Roots, Saxophone, West African Rhythm Ensemble and the Carleton University Choir. Performances take place at Kailash Mital Theatre, Carleton-Dominion Chalmers Centre and House of Targ. Admission is free.

Carleton Mobile App Update: 1.6.0
Carleton Mobile has been updated to version 1.6.0, with a link to the HeyChef dining app, improved exams view display, filters for electric vehicle (EV) stations on the campus map, bug fixes and general updates. Full details on the update are available on the

Last day to pay any remaining balance on your Student Account to avoid a hold on access to marks through Carleton Central and the release of transcripts and other official documents.

Winter term ends.

Last day of full winter, late winter and fall/winter term classes.

Last day for take home examinations to be assigned.

April 9-10
No classes or examinations take place.

April 11-26
Final examinations in full winter, late winter and fall/winter term courses will be held.

April 18
Statutory holiday. University closed.

We Offer Thesis Writing Consultations
Graduate Studies offers one-on-one thesis writing consultations to assist you with any writing challenges you might be facing, answer your questions about thesis writing, or discuss the effectiveness of your writing strategies. The one-on-one writing consultations are meant to assist graduate students who are writing Major Research Projects, master’s theses, or PhD dissertations.

Graduate Students' Association (GSA)

Thank you for your enthusiastic participation during our nomination period! We received a remarkable number of nominations for the positions of President, Vice-President External, and Vice-President Academics. (Please note that the roles of Vice-President Finance and Vice-President Operations were exclusively open to Council Members.)

Keep checking back to the GSA website elections page for up-to-date information on the elections process, the timeline, candidate bios, and more! Additionally, mark your calendars for the GSA elections, which will be held online from April 9 to 10. An email from OIRP at Carleton will be sent to your CMAIL with a link to vote.

All Candidates Forum on April 7: Join us in-person or on the GSA Instagram and Facebook livestream to ask questions and hear candidates debate. Details will be available on the GSA website closer to the date.
 

 

Vickers-Verduyn Annual Lecture

From Black Lives Matter to the War on Woke: the (Homegrown) Politics of Backlash in Canada

Join Canadian Studies on April 11 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for the Vickers-Verduyn Lecture examining the rise of this political backlash in Canada and reflecting on the political upheaval and flux. It considers the collapse of old political norms, uncertainty surrounding emerging alternatives, influence of American culture wars and the pressing question of whether Canadian democracy can withstand the challenges ahead.

The Order of the White Rose Scholarships 

The Order of the White Rose is evolving and, in 2025, has become an annual Canada-wide scholarship program. Initiated by Polytechnique Montréal, this program is made possible thanks to the support of the Philanthropic Circle of the Order of the White Rose. These non-renewable $50,000 scholarships will be awarded to Canadian female engineering students who wish to pursue graduate studies (master’s or PhD) in engineering at the institution of their choice, in Canada or abroad.

The deadline for submitting your application portfolio is determined by your home university. Please contact Tom Morrice with the Faculty of Engineering and Design for Carleton deadlines.
